Nothing in her world is what it seemed. She thought she’d finally defeated the Reestablishment. She thought she’d finally taken control of her life, her power, and her pain. But Juliette has only just begun to unravel a lifetime of lies, and she finds herself faced with a familiar choice:
Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
This time, she’s not alone. Stronger, braver, and more resilient than ever, Juliette will fight for life and love with her friends by her side—but first, she has to survive the war being waged against her mind:
She has to remember who she was.”
Review:
Okay this one was waaaay better than the last one, I’m glad I pulled through. This installment filled in most of the gaps the last few books had and made it all the more digestible. We’ve got new revelations and uncovered memories and the ultimate foe no one saw coming, Juliette’s biological parents.
This was emotionally harrowing. Most of the book our characters are fighting tooth and nail to keep whatever shred of sanity they have left in order to endure unimaginable torture. And towards the end, we are flooded with hope despite the colossal-sized endeavor ahead. Even I got a tad emotional I won’t lie.
Overall this installment gave me my hope back and the final installment better follow suit!
