Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins (Review #95)

"Hopeless romantic Isla has had a crush on introspective cartoonist Josh since their first year at the School of America in Paris. And after a chance encounter in Manhattan over the summer, romance might be closer than Isla imagined. But as they begin their senior year back in France, Isla and Josh are forced to confront the challenges every young couple must face, including family drama, uncertainty about their college futures, and the very real possibility of being apart."

Review:
Stephanie Perkins does not disappoint. Isla was a lovable character from the beginning, and what really surprised me was that she appeared in Anna and the French Kiss! That girl from the previous story ended up a key player and I was happy to see her story. Don't worry though, you don't need to read it to understand this one. It was heartbreaking and original and I felt Isla's turmoil, confusion, guilt, and frustration with every page. What also intrigued me was Josh's ex. she was a friend of Anna and Etienne (from French Kiss) and for her to suddenly just drop everyone over the breakup with Josh seemed petty. I feel like her character was a key part of Anna's story and that her friendship shouldn't have flopped because of a breakup. Overall I think it was a cute story. I loved the ending and the surprise cameo and awesome twist with it. I know the title makes the story sound a little cheesy, but it's definitely worth the read.

Quick side note: I read this on my kindle while on the most amazing international trip ever. It was six countries (England, France, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, and Germany)  in ten days and, just in case you were wondering, France was #2 on the list! I strolled through Paris and went to the many places talked about in this book and in Anna and the French Kiss and it truly made the stories even more real for me and at the same time, I created my own stories. I highly recommend international travel to everyone, especially with friends if you can swing it. I  had the time of my life, and you should too!

Burn for Burn by Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian (Review #29)

"Lillia has never had any problems dealing with boys who like her. Not until this summer, when one went too far. No way will she let the same thing happen to her little sister. Kate is tired of the rumors, the insults, the cruel jokes. It all goes back to one person - her ex-best friend - and she's ready to make her pay. Four years ago, Mary left Jar Island because of a boy. But she's not the same girl anymore. And she's ready to prove it to him. Three very different girls who want the same thing: sweet, sweet revenge. And they won't stop until they've each had a taste." Review: This book was FAN-TAS-TIC!! I am not for the petty popular girl books, and this is definitely not one of those books. The revenge you wish you got on the person who double-crossed you is finally let loose In one of the best and most inventive ways, and the ending left me jaw-dropped. This is a book everyone should have on their shelf.

Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan (Review #143)

"A girl named Nadya, who hears the whispers of the gods inside her head. A prince surrounded by desperate suitors and deadly assassins. A monster hidden behind pale, tortured eyes - and a smile that cuts like a knife. The paths of these characters becomes entwined during a centuries-long war filled with sinners and saints, magic and mystery, and a star-crossed romance that threatens to tip the scales between dark and light forever." Review: This was one of the best reads I’ve had in a long while. It DEVASTATED ME. BUT IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. Nadya and Serefin were both complicated, messy, yet divine characters. Neither were in the right or wrong but both knew the endgame. I loved every second of it. These characters never did what was expected of them and I loved there growth from beginning to end. And MALACHIASZ?????? I shipped it so hard. Every twist and turn had me hoping he and Nadya would set sail. Their dynamic was so intriguing to me. They were enemies of a hig
