WARNING: SPOILER ALERT: IF YOU HAVE NOT GOTTEN THIS FAR IN THE REVENANTS TRILOGY, STOP NOW. DO NOT READ. THIS IS BOOK 3. FOR THE REVIEW OF BOOK 1, CHECK OUT UNTIL I DIE AND DIE FOR ME FOR BOOK 2!
"I will not lose another person I love. I will not let history repeat itself.
Vincent waited lifetimes to find me, but in an instant our future together has been shattered. He was betrayed by Violette, someone we both called a friend, and I lost him. Now Violette is determined to rule over France's immortals, and she's willing to wage a war to get what she wants.
It shouldn't be possible, none of it should be, but this is my reality. I know Vincent is somewhere out there, I know he's not completely gone, and I will do anything to save him.
After what we've already fought to achieve, a life without Vincent is unimaginable. He once swore to avoid dying - to go against his nature and forsake sacrificing himself for others - so that we could be together. How can I not risk everything to bring my love back to me?"
Review:
I have been anxiously awaiting the third installment to the Die for me trilogy mainly because the ending to the second book made me burst out into tears. I mean Vincent, the one thing that's left that brings Kate happiness, was ripped away; I mean seriously I was a mess. So as soon as I read the first page I was hooked. Everything about this story had me pining for Vincent and at the same time, I was furious with the characters for not putting the pieces together fast enough for my liking. But, to be honest, I get a little frustrated when the characters I'm so invested in don't see what's right under their noses until the last possible second. All in all, I liked the direction the end went. I didn't anticipate it happening but after it did, I realized that it was the perfect way to end cette histoire d'amour.
