Review:

Another one bites the dust! 

Honestly, I was hoping I think for a bit more character development in this along with the smut, but if we look at how much progress our girl has made on the murder of her own brother? Well, diddly fucking squat. I guess that can fall to the back burner for now.


As for the main focus of the book (the boys), I am torn. On the one hand, there's Gabriel and Ryder. Those two just annoyed the shit out of me the entire time. Gabriel dealing with the knowledge that Elise is his mate or whatever. predestined by the stars. And homeboy just fucking pouts and bullies her in denial. HOW OLD ARE YOU???? Please someone get him before I do.



As for Ryder, dude. Usually, I am all for the enemies-to-lovers set-up. Mostly, I like a woman who puts a macho man into his place until he begs for it. This is something else entirely, and it pisses me off. Sure, I can get behind the whole "he likes pain" of it all, but there is just not enough so far for me to sympathize or understand this character or his motivations, other than wanting to be the king of it all or whatever. I mean, give me something to work with here!


Now, on the other hand, we have Dante and Leon. These two were the rays of joy for me in this book. Not only because they both take different approaches to wooing our girl, but because the combined energy was just electric. Now, the rivalry between Ryder and Dante, and the subsequent pact the two of them make... I SAID NOT TO PISS ME OFF!!!!! It basically stunted my enjoyment as a result. HOWEVER. The scene with Leon and Elise in the showers? 


Speaking of Leon, he was hands down my favorite! A love a guy who is just so down bad for his girl and loves any opportunity to show it. At least one of them is! He made the whole book so much more enjoyable and the prospect of all these gentlemen taking notes from the lion, that's what's pushing me into the next book! And, ya know, figuring out who murdered her brother. 

On one final note, I damn near skipped the chapters in her brother's POV, that shit was so boring. I mean I did read it, but more like lightly skimmed.
