Review:
This was an overall decent book. It had all the necessary pieces for a good fantasy: a cool FMC, the privileged vs the oppressed overarching theme, forbidden romance, magic, and of course dragons (flightless ones tho, boo). I think this was a mid level book for me because nothing seemed all that original or unique to me. No twist or turn this story had really took me by surprise. 


I want to read the sequel, for sure. I think for one I have read Arnett before and it was - again - mid to me. And I didn’t read the rest of the series to see if the characters developed more. So this time around (since there’s just the one sequel), I’m giving this story a shot to be better. 

For the sequel, I want more action. This installment seemed to drag for the majority of the book and only picked up the pace after about 2/3 of the way in. I wanna see Traitor Kate start to take a real active role in this story like she did towards the end. For me, the finale fight scene was where it was at. It was violent and bloodthirsty and really grey for an MC who has been pretty black and white thus far which I love and I want us to delve into that more. 
Overall a good read, but I need more from the sequel. I also want more of Master Raith, that man is foiiiiiiiine!!!! Anyways, let me know your own thoughts and feels down below, I’ll see you on the next one!

I am not for the petty popular girl books, and this is definitely not one of those books. The revenge you wish you got on the person who double-crossed you is finally let loose in one of the best and most inventive ways, and the ending left me jaw-dropped. This is a book everyone should have on their shelf.

I always love seeing women who are independent and overwhelmingly bad ass, and if I was a character in a fantas...
