"It’s been two months since the Fates were freed from a deck of cards, two months since Legend claimed the throne for his own, and two months since Tella discovered the boy she fell in love with doesn’t really exist.

With lives, empires, and hearts hanging in the balance, Tella must decide if she’s going to trust Legend or a former enemy. After uncovering a secret that upends her life, Scarlett will need to do the impossible. And Legend has a choice to make that will forever change and define him.

Caraval is over, but perhaps the greatest game of all has begun. There are no spectators this time—only those who will win, and those who will lose everything.

Welcome, welcome to Finale. All games must come to an end…"

Review:

This final installment I was scared to start, I won’t lie. From being on the fence with the first book, to enjoying the second, I wasn’t sure which way this one would swing. Now that I’ve reached the end I’ve come to one clear conclusion.

Scarlett SUCKS.

Tella is what made the second book so enjoyable and she is also what made the Finale an adventure as well. Scarlett on the other hand, royally pissed me off. You expect me to believe that Donatella is the spoiled naive younger sister with no cares in the world, when she’s the ONLY one who seems to give a damn about what happening in their world????? Tella is getting. Stuff. Done! And what is Scarlett doing? Using the magical key a little girl who just got TORTURED gave her to her set around the world to have cute dates with her boyfriend. HUH??? How about answer the door when your sister is POUNDING on it cus ya know, THE WORLD IS AT STAKE????

She was so infuriating. Any time we were in her POV I was annoyed. And then when she finally starts trying to actually play a part in the end game, she is actually little to no help at all. And I think too the author even seems to not care too much about Scarlett either, because we skip over her time with the Fallen Star entirely and just quick cut to the end. Not even a training montage at least!

Overall, Tella was where it was at. She had the most interesting storyline, the most compelling love interest(s), and was honestly the heroine I wanted to see and she made every page with her sister worth it. This story had a very interesting ending and I kind of wished we could continue it with just Tella, but I digress. Another one bites the dust!

Tella has my heart, and that’s the last I’ll say of it.

As always, let me know your own thoughts and feels down below in the comments, and I’ll catch you on the next one real soon!

Hi. I'm Samantha and I hope you enjoy my first Book Review and the many more reviews to come. Thank You for stopping by! Before Cheyenne realizes what's happening, someone is stealing the car - with her inside! Griffin hadn't meant to kidnap Cheyenne; all he planned to do was take the car. But once Griffin's dad finds out that Cheyenne's father is the president of a powerful cooperation, everything changes - now there's a reason to keep her. How will Cheyenne survive this nightmare? She's not only sick - she's BLIND!" Review: This book was a lot better than I expected. It showed both points of view of the two main characters and the villain comes from an unexpected direction. I really loved stepping into the eyes of a blind person. Going through the struggles Cheyenne had to go through and all under extreme circumstance...

The Harpy by Megan Hunter (Review #245)

“Lucy Lives with her husband, Jake and their two boys. Her life is devoted to her children, her days, mapped out by their finally tune routine. Until a man calls one afternoon with a shattering message. His wife has been having an affair with Lucy’s husband. He thought she should know. Lucy is distraught. She decides to stay with Jake, if only for their children sake, but in order to even the score, they agreed that she will hurt him three times. Jake Will not know when the hurt is coming, or what form it will take. And so begins a delicate game of crime and punishment, from which there is no return…” Review: “Deeply unsettling” author Daisy Johnson said of this book, and honestly I think that’s the perfect description. For me though this wasn’t necessarily horror, and fantasy is a stretch at best, but let’s backtrack a bit. This story was about grief. Lucy is grieving and trying to heal from a monumental wound. She by no means is a pillar of a healthy psyche, but even in her worst mom...
