Another knockout book. Omg. Look we BEEN knew Catwoman was a clever kitty but this take on her origin??? And when she said she was bringing Gotham to it’s knees she did not disappoint!
Wow, so much I want to talk about but can’t so lemme try. Selina was the woman to root for from beginning to end. She starts off as a teen just trying to take care of her sick sister in the slums of the East End. She joins a girl gang and fights in the ring for Falcone to make ends meet until a mysterious woman plucks her from behind the prison bars with the promise of saving her sister.
Essentially she sells her soul for her sister to have a better life. If that doesn’t make you wanna root for her idk what will. And now she’s on a mission back home in Gotham. Now what that mission is, you won’t know til the end, but it’ll rock you I promise.
And if you thought Miss Thang was doing this all on her lonesome YOU ARE MISTAKEN! Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn are here too! Ugh and we stan making Ivy gay and Harls bi, that was a power move right there.
And then Luke. What a guy. We read in his POV as well as Selina’s so it was interesting to see him get his ass handed to him as well as their little flirting as socialite neighbors. I’ll be honest though, he’s a goody-goody and that made him a bit boring, aside from his battle with PTSD. That was an interesting part of his character that separated him from Wayne in my eyes.
Overall, so amazing. I ate that book up!
