Review:

This was an awesome twist of novel-meets-comics-meets-mystery thriller! I liked it a lot more than I thought I would and it was a great change in direction from what I usually read. Although the mystery aspect wasn't all that challenging, I had to keep in mind that this book is for a younger audience than a college student. Nonetheless, I loved how you were able to read the comic story of Princess X along with the main character, May. It was as though I was a part of the story, helping May and Trick put the pieces of Libby's past together and connecting the dots to find the clues. I also loved May as a character. She had been told since the accident to give up hope on the fantasy of Libby being alive and out there somewhere, but she never gave up hope. She was also surprisingly spunky and quick-witted. Overall, this was a fun, exciting story. It had some dark pieces to it which made it so much more than a cliche Nancy Drew Mystery of sorts, but also had you solving riddles and finding clues along with the characters. I enjoyed this immensely.

I am not for the petty popular girl books, and this is definitely not one of those books. The revenge you wish you got on the person who double-crossed you is finally let loose In one of the best and most inventive ways, and the ending left me jaw-dropped. This is a book everyone should have on their shelf.
