Review:
This particular book was a good first stepping stone in a much larger story. We are introduced to a not-so-far-fetched world where a simple DNA test determines if you will have a normal life, or the life of a pariah. I loved the idea of this stereotypical popular girl becoming a bad-ass killer, or supposed future killer. But in all honesty, the story lacked originality. It leaned really close to the same storyline as Divergent, (i.e. a girl is scared of this new world she's in, and a guy is her protector from those who wish to hurt her). I'm hoping that the sequel will add depth to the characters, and that this first book is just a launch pad for a spectacular series.
