Review:
Wow, this book was fantastic. This alternate universe was our world flipped on its head and filled with a whole lot more magic. There were laugh-out-loud moments as well as powerfully heated moments, ones that people under the age of sixteen should not be privy to. I loved the unorthodox way the author took on vampires, or Bludmen as they're called. I also loved how realistic Tish's reactions to things were. Like in the beginning when Criminy says "You're the love of my life and I've been waiting for you," she reacted as any real girl would: severely weird-ed out. I loved Criminy's allure, but hated how Tish resisted it, even after they took their love to the physical level. At a certain point, you need to just accept it. I understood her yearn to provide for her grandmother and not leave her alone in death, but also felt the love of the life of adventure and the things Criminy could give her in the new world. So it was hard for me to decide what I thought she should choose. I loved the Epilogue chapter and how the author presented the end of the story. I was left with so many questions, but was content with leaving them unanswered. I was deeply moved by the book and it is one of the best I've ever read. I will be devouring the sequel in the near future and I look forward to sharing it with you.
