The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black (Review #216)

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT: IF YOU HAVE NOT GOTTEN THIS FAR IN THE FOLK OF THE AIR TRILOGY, STOP NOW. DO NOT READ. THIS IS BOOK 3. FOR THE REVIEW ON BOOK 1, CHECK OUT THE CRUEL PRINCE. FOR BOOK 2, CHECK OUT THE WICKED KING.

“He will be the destruction of the crown and the ruination of the throne.

Power is much easier to acquire than it is to hold onto. Jude learned this lesson when she released her control over the wicked king, Cardan, in exchange for immeasurable power.

Now as the exiled mortal Queen of Faerie, Jude is powerless and left reeling from Cardan's betrayal. She bides her time determined to reclaim everything he took from her. Opportunity arrives in the form of her twin sister, Taryn, whose life is in peril.

Jude must risk venturing back into the treacherous Faerie Court, and confront her lingering feelings for Cardan, if she wishes to save her sister. But Elfhame is not as she left it. War is brewing. As Jude slips deep within enemy lines she becomes ensnared in the conflict's bloody politics.

And, when a dormant yet powerful curse is unleashed, panic spreads throughout the land, forcing her to choose between her ambition and her humanity . . .

Review:
WOW. Okay here me out, Jude is stupid as hell. First off, Jude and Cardan getting married was so romantic and sweet, I loved every minute of that. And Cardan made complete sense in his reasoning and i new his intentions were pure. So when the whole ordeal came to light of Jude killing his brother, she was dumb as hell for not realizing she had the power to lift her own banishment. She should’ve stayed quiet, let them escort her to the human realm and then came right back! She was stupid for that one, that was common sense!

But anyways. She sneaks back to take the place of her sister who is on trial for the death of her piece of shit husband, Locke That man should’ve been murdered in book 1, but whatever. To me, Tayrn did a lot of messed up stuff to Jude, I’m not sure I would’ve forgiven so easily. But we moved passed it far quicker than I would’ve liked.

AND THEN HER ESCAPE FROM THE CAMP???? OMG. Iconic, honestly. The flowers??? YES QUEEN!

I’m not sure if I enjoyed this more than the last one, but it was still an enjoyable read. This story had all the best elements of a YA fantasy with an enemies to lovers trope for the ages.

How did YOU feel about this final installment? Was the ending all you hoped it would be? Let me know your own thoughts and feels down below in the comments!

Burn for Burn by Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian (Review #29)

"Lillia has never had any problems dealing with boys who like her. Not until this summer, when one went too far. No way will she let the same thing happen to her little sister. Kate is tired of the rumors, the insults, the cruel jokes. It all goes back to one person - her ex-best friend - and she's ready to make her pay. Four years ago, Mary left Jar Island because of a boy. But she's not the same girl anymore. And she's ready to prove it to him. Three very different girls who want the same thing: sweet, sweet revenge. And they won't stop until they've each had a taste." Review: This book was FAN-TAS-TIC!! I am not for the petty popular girl books, and this is definitely not one of those books. The revenge you wish you got on the person who double-crossed you is finally let loose In one of the best and most inventive ways, and the ending left me jaw-dropped. This is a book everyone should have on their shelf.

Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan (Review #143)

"A girl named Nadya, who hears the whispers of the gods inside her head. A prince surrounded by desperate suitors and deadly assassins. A monster hidden behind pale, tortured eyes - and a smile that cuts like a knife. The paths of these characters becomes entwined during a centuries-long war filled with sinners and saints, magic and mystery, and a star-crossed romance that threatens to tip the scales between dark and light forever." Review: This was one of the best reads I’ve had in a long while. It DEVASTATED ME. BUT IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. Nadya and Serefin were both complicated, messy, yet divine characters. Neither were in the right or wrong but both knew the endgame. I loved every second of it. These characters never did what was expected of them and I loved there growth from beginning to end. And MALACHIASZ?????? I shipped it so hard. Every twist and turn had me hoping he and Nadya would set sail. Their dynamic was so intriguing to me. They were enemies of a hig
