"Sixteen-year-old Tess Kendrick has spent her entire life on her grandfather's ranch. But when her estranged sister Ivy uproots her to D.C., Tess is thrown into a world that revolves around politics and power. She also starts at Hardwicke Academy, the D.C. school for the children of the rich and powerful, where she unwittingly becomes a fixer for the high school set, fixing teens’ problems the way her sister fixes their parents’ problems.
And when a conspiracy surfaces that involves the family member of one of Tess's classmates, love triangles and unbelievable family secrets come to light and life gets even more interesting—and complicated—for Tess."
Review:
Oooo this read went SWIMMINGLYYYY. I loved Tess right off the bat. Tough as nails and don’t you dare test that or end up like the bull. And ASHER?????? He charmed the PANTS off of me (almost literally aye). And then Henry. Oh Henry, too much like Ivy and Tess for his own good. This book lifted me off my feet and had me flying til the very end. The whole problem that needed fixing kept growing and growing, each turn as twisty as the next and then WHAM. The biggest twist of them all. Maybe it was obvious to everyone else but it wasn’t to me. I was as dazed as Tess getting on that plane. And then WHAM!! Another hit to the gut. And then ANOTHER WHAM!!!
OOF. Wow.
Another compelling read, I will say. When you finish something in basically a day, there’s no denying it was good. It was an action packed mystery from beginning to end. I mean THE DISCONNECTED CALLER???? STFU we know who it is... don’t we? Thoroughly enjoyed this one and I can’t wait to pick up the sequel!!!
