Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi (Review #57)

" I have a curse. I have a gift. I'm a monster. I'm more than human. My touch is lethal. My touch is power. I am their weapon. I will fight back. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal, but the Reestablishment has plans for her. Plans to use her as a weapon. But Juliette has plans of her own. After a lifetime without freedom, she's finally discovering the strength to fight back for the very first time - and to find a future with the one boy she thought she lost forever." Review: WOW. This book was absolutely fantastic and way better than I originally assumed it would be. From page one, I was reeled in and before I knew it, I reached the last page. There is little more I can say about this book other than telling you to read it

"Since the Event, everyone is haunted.... Most days, the ghosts don't bother Veronica. Living in the aftermath of the Event means that seeing the dead is now a part of life. Then again, sharing a mirror every morning with a phantom teenage boy can be too close for comfort, and she wishes some ghosts could just move on. But the ghosts are gaining power. When Veronica and her friend Kirk investigate why, they stumble upon a sinister plot. One of Veronica's high school teachers is crippled by the fact that his daughter won't return as a ghost. He believes she just needs the right body. August has tried finding - and murdering - a live host for his Eva before, to no avail. But the more he follows Veronica, the more August knows she's a perfect match. And even if he's wrong, where's the harm in creating one more ghost?" Review: This is one of those books that you finish with more questions than answers. The title, for example, is a metaphor -
